Event overview
The Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk takes place on May 2, 2026, at Midland City Forest, 2840 E. Monroe Rd., Midland, MI. It is organized by Great Lakes Bay Animal Society as their 13th annual event. The event is a 5K trail run/walk offered in two chip-timed categories: with dogs and without dogs. Aid and water stations are placed along the trail. The course is stroller-friendly and described as family- and kid-friendly. Medals will be awarded for first, second, and third place in male and female categories. Children aged six and under may run or walk for free.

Pre-registration is listed at $35, with a price increase after April 25, 2026. Event T-shirts and other participant items are guaranteed for those who register before April 20, 2026. Packet pick-up and late registration are held at Midland City Forest on the day before and on race day. A day-of registration fee is listed at $40.
