Event overview
Run the Line Half Marathon takes place in Texarkana, crossing the Texas-Arkansas state line on a USATF-certified single-loop course (AR19015WJT). The event offers these options:
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 2-person relay - each member runs 6.55 miles
- 4-person relay - each member runs approximately 3.275 miles
The event uses chip timing and permits runners and walkers. The race is a Road Runner Club of America event member and is included in the Natural State Running Series and the Arkansas RRCA Grand Prix Series. Relay teams are not permitted in the Grand Prix Series.
Course and logistics
The course starts at W. Broad Street and Texas Blvd in downtown Texarkana and finishes at 3rd and Wood Streets in front of Hopkins Ice House in Texarkana, Arkansas. About four miles are on 10-ft wide asphalt trails through two city parks; the remainder is on coned city streets. The course includes several long inclines. Water stops and restrooms are located near miles 2.3, 3.5, 5, 6.5, 8, 9.8, and 11. Multiple police officers and more than 100 volunteers are stationed along the course. Musical entertainers are on the course.
Registration, packet pick-up and awards
Participants must be at least 13 years old. A youth discount applies for ages 13–17 and a senior discount for age 65 and older. Standard entry fees and late-fee dates are listed by the organizer. Packet pick-up is available before race day at Racquet & Jog and there is race day packet pick-up downtown. Gear drop-off is provided at two locations and will be moved to the finish area inside Hopkins Ice House. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards are given by overall, age-group, master categories, and for relay teams; top three overall female and male finishers also receive a $100 gift certificate.
