Event Overview
The Haven Hustle 5K is a 3.1-mile course through historic downtown Texarkana, Arkansas. It serves as a fundraiser for Haven Homes, a faith-based non-profit organization. Haven Homes provides services such as safe housing, work programs, counseling, and recovery support for men and women in the area dealing with addiction.
Course Details
The race starts at the old State First National Bank building at 300 Olive St. The route passes several landmarks including Saint Edwards Catholic Church, Beech Street Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, the railyard, the Stateline Federal Building & Post Office, the Perot Theater, Hotel Grim, Silvermoon on Broad, City Hall, multiple war memorials, the Arts Park, and murals of local figures like Scott Joplin.
Weekend Activities
The event weekend features multiple activities:
- Friday night: Packet pick-up for runners.
- Saturday morning: The 5K run.
- Saturday all-day: A car show from 8 AM to 3 PM at Beech Street Baptist Church (601 Beech St.). The car show includes food trucks, games, trophies, and prizes. Car show registration has a fee or can be covered by a donation of hygiene products.
