Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K
Community Healthcore Foundation presents the 13th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot on November 26, 2026, in Texarkana. The event takes place at Spring Lake Park, 4303 N Park Road, Texarkana, TX 75501. Proceeds will be used by the Community Healthcore Foundation for client services, unmet needs, and other assistance without a funding source.
Event options include the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K)
- 0.5 Miles (Kids Fun Dash, ages 12 and under)
- Virtual Sleep In option
Registration details vary by event. Fees listed by the organizer are $30.00 for the 5K, $20.00 for the Kids Fun Dash, and $30.00 for the virtual Sleep In option. Packet pick-up is available on Wednesday, November 25 at Racquet & Job, 3435 Richmond Road, Texarkana from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Race morning packet pick-up opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 8:15 AM at the race site on November 26.
The Kids Fun Dash is for ages 12 and under, uses its own route, and begins after the 5K. Participants in the kids event must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The organizer states there will be no refunds due to weather or other circumstances beyond their control.
Community Healthcore is a non-profit agency that serves as the local Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Authority for nine counties in Northeast Texas, including Bowie, Cass, and Red River Counties. Services include mental health care for children and adults, programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorder services, and assistance for homeless Veterans.
