The Community Healthcore Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation established in 2001 to raise funds and awareness for programs that serve people with mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Grants from the foundation have been used for program items, a retreat for women veterans, start-up funds for the Cornerstone project, and start-up funds for a Marshall day habilitation soap business called Heavenly Scent Soap.
The Turkey Trot is listed as one of two major annual fundraising events for the foundation, the other being Champions for Change in Longview. The foundation also participates in other activities such as East Texas Giving Day and a Veteran’s Day luncheon to support its programs.
