Event Overview
Run the Grove is an annual community running event held in Timbergrove Manor in Houston, Texas. The 9th edition, Run the Grove 2026, will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The event includes a 5K run and a Kids’ Fun Run of about 1K.
The race begins and ends at the Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve / West 11th Street Park, located at 2400 West 11th Street in Timbergrove Manor. The 5K course is USATF certified and is chip timed. Aid stations and water are available at the start, the finish, and along the route.
The Kids’ Fun Run is open to children of all ages. All participants receive a runner packet with a race t-shirt, and all Kids’ Fun Run finishers receive a medal.
Registration, Divisions and Fees
The event offers early bird, regular, and race day registration fees:
- 5K: $40 early bird, $45 regular, $50 race day
- Kids’ Fun Run: $20 early bird, $25 regular, $30 race day
The 5K has age divisions for men and women:
- Under 20
- 20–39
- 40+
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each 5K category, based on chip time.
Logistics and Goals
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 26 and 27, from 4 pm to 7 pm at a location to be determined. Limited parking near the park is restricted due to road closures, with designated parking available at nearby churches.
Run the Grove supports several community goals: tree planting through the “Grow the Grove” program, conservation efforts at Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve, and donations of a percentage of net proceeds to Love and Sinclair Elementary Schools.
