Event Details
The Running with My Peeps 10K - Energy Corridor is a road running event held in Houston's Energy Corridor district. It is the third annual edition of the event, with a theme tied to the PEEPS® marshmallow candy brand. The 10K is part of a multi-race event that also includes a 5K and a PEEPS® Kids Dash.
Location and Course
The event starts and finishes at the Addicks Park and Ride, located right off Interstate 10. The course is described as flat and fast and follows an out-and-back route on Park Row Drive. The start line, finish line, and parking are all within the Addicks Park and Ride facility. The site has ample accessible parking, including handicap parking.
Schedule and Participants
The event takes place on Saturday, April 4. The PEEPS® Kids Dash begins first, followed by the 10K run, and then the 5K run/walk. Walkers and participants with strollers are welcome but are asked to start at the back of the corral for the 5K/10K event. All participants must finish within a 120-minute timeframe.
Participant Items and Features
All registered participants receive an officially licensed race packet. This includes a participant bib, a performance tech t-shirt, and a limited-edition finisher medal. Post-race refreshments include PEEPS® marshmallow candy. Special appearances are scheduled by a PEEPS® chick mascot and the Easter Bunny, and there is a kids' Easter egg hunt area.
Other Information
Awards are given for the fastest overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K, as well as for first-place age group winners. The event has a charitable partner, Memorial Assistance Ministries, which will be on-site collecting donations of diapers and wipes. Registration is limited to 2,000 participants.
