Green 6.2
The Green 6.2 running event will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026. It is described as the 18th anniversary of what is called the "greenest race in Houston" and is the third race of the Houston Holiday Series. The event coincides with Earth Week.
The event includes five race categories:
- 5K Run
- 10K Run
- Kids + Family Fun Run (a 1K walk, which is 0.62 miles)
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 10K
The in-person races start at CityCentre, located at 800 Town & Country Blvd in Houston, Texas. Packet pickup is available on the Thursday before the race at Sun & Ski Sports on Westheimer Road, with a race-day packet pickup option for an additional fee. The race course is described as loops: the 10K consists of two loops and the 5K consists of one loop.
Awards are given for the top three overall male and female finishers, the top three masters overall male and female finishers, and the first-place winner in each 10-year age division. These awards must be claimed on race day. Free parking is available in the G1 and G2 parking garages on their upper levels. The event has grown from 200 runners at its start to over 2000 participants in recent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
