About the race
Run the Farm is a four mile community run and walk held in Centereach that finishes on the historic grounds of Bethel Hobbs Community Farm. The course covers 4 miles, beginning with roughly two miles of flat terrain, followed by about a mile of rolling hills and two mildly challenging ascents before the finish at Hobbs Farm.
Event facilities and services include refreshments, awards, pre- and post-race food and water at Hobbs Farm, and portable toilets at both the school and farm locations. The first 250 participants receive a T-shirt and all entrants receive a promotional goodie bag. Parking is available at Oxhead Elementary School and on site at Hobbs Farm.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, the top overall active military or veteran, top three men and women in standard age-group categories with medals for age groups 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus, and there are provisions for wheelchair athletes.
Bibs and participant items are mailed; the shipping window ranges from one week prior to the event to one week after. In-person bib pickup is handled at Oxhead Elementary School at 144 Oxhead Road, Centereach, and a self-lookup area is available for participants who do not know their bib number. A virtual participation option allows entrants to upload times and up to five photos through the event results system during the designated upload window.
