Event Overview
The Run The D.O.G. St. 5K is a multi-format event taking place in Williamsburg, Virginia. It offers six distinct events for participants. These include several on-site 5K options, a one-mile event, and a virtual run.
Events
The on-site events are a 5K Run, a 5K Run & Walk, a Students-Only 5K Run/Walk, and a 5K Competitive Walk. There is also a Two Shilling Mile race and a 5K Virtual Run/Walk.
Course & Schedule
The event takes place on a USATF-certified 5K course. The course starts on Prince George Street, runs through Williamsburg and Colonial Williamsburg, and finishes on Duke of Gloucester Street. Runners pass the Governor's Palace and the Colonial Capitol building, with the final 800 meters on Duke of Gloucester Street. The Two Shilling Mile begins at the finish line on Duke of Gloucester Street. The 5K events start on Prince George Street.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Colonial Sports on Jamestown Road, and on race day at the start line. There is no race day registration.
Awards & Details
Awards include cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers, plus custom medals. There are also awards for age group finishers, masters runners, walkers, and teams. All 5K and Two Shilling Mile finishers receive a custom medal. A technical race shirt is guaranteed for 5K participants who register by a specific deadline in early April.
Charity Partnership
The race supports Habitat for Humanity Peninsula & Greater Williamsburg. Proceeds from the event are used to build a home for a family in the Williamsburg area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
