Event details

The 17th Annual Run The D.O.G. St. 5K takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Williamsburg, VA (Duke of Gloucester Street, 23185). Events include:

  • 5K Run & Walk
  • Students-Only 5K Run/Walk
  • 5K Competitive Walk
  • Two Shilling Mile
  • 5K Virtual Run/Walk

Prices range from $20 to $35. Most on-site events list registration opening December 29, 2025; the virtual 5K opens January 1, 2026. All events are open to ages 1 to 98. There is no race day registration.

Course and race operations

The 5K is USATF certified (Certification VA21008RT) and is part of the Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix and the Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix. The course starts on Prince George Street near Nassau Street, runs through Williamsburg and Colonial Williamsburg, passes the Governor's Palace and the Colonial Capitol building, and finishes on Duke of Gloucester Street just before Nassau Street. Early packet pickup and final registration occur Friday, April 17, 2026 at Colonial Sports, 1303 Jamestown Road #111. Race day packet pickup is available at the start line.

Awards and charity

Top three overall men and women receive cash awards of $200, $100, and $50 plus a custom medal. Age-group top three finishers receive custom medals; masters and walkers have separate cash and medal awards. Team awards include Fastest Team, Largest Team, and Largest Donation. Two Shilling Mile and 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Tech tee race shirts are given to 5K participants registered by April 8, 2026. The race charity partner is Habitat for Humanity Peninsula & Greater Williamsburg; race proceeds will be used to build a Habitat home in Williamsburg.
