Run the 'Burg 5K

The event is the 19th Annual Run the 'Burg 5K, presented by a partnership of the Harrisburg YMCA, Harrisburg Parks & Recreation, and the Harrisburg Rotary. It takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Harrisburg Park in Harrisburg, NC. The goal is to promote recreation and local business.

The event schedule includes a 5K race at 8:00 AM, followed by a Fun Run at 9:00 AM. An awards presentation is scheduled for 9:30 AM. A Health Fair/Healthy Kids Day runs from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their start time.

Packet pick-up is available on Friday, April 24 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on race day, Saturday, April 25, from 6:00 AM to 7:45 AM. Race day registration begins at 6:00 AM at Harrisburg Park.

Awards are given to the top three male and female overall 5K runners. Age group awards are also presented for top three males and females in categories from 9 and under to 70+.

Proceeds from the event support the Harrisburg YMCA's Open Doors program, which provides financial assistance for Y programs, and the Rotary Club of Harrisburg. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
