Run the Bridges Penrith
Run the Bridges Penrith is a road running event in Penrith, held with the Blue Mountains as a backdrop. The course is a loop that includes the M4 Bridge and the Yandhai Nepean Crossing, with riverside sections and predominantly paved surfaces. Course details state approximately 99 percent pavement and an elevation gain of about 95 m for the mapped routes.
The event hub and finish area are located at Penrith Panthers Leagues Club. Facilities at the hub include toilets, a bag drop with bag tags attached to race bibs, event merchandise, and postrace food and recovery options. Aid stations and on-course nutrition are planned to include water, Revvies Hypotonic Electrolyte Drink, and lollies. Event photography, electronic timing, and professional medical support are provided.
Start procedures use a rolling, self seeded format rather than formal wave starts. Accessibility rules: dogs and wheelchairs are not permitted on course; prams are permitted only in the 2 km fun run and must start at the back of the field. Podium medals are awarded in age categories for the competitive distances; the 2 km event does not offer podium prizes. Sustainability measures include reusable BibSNAPs to reduce single use waste. The event also partners with a primary charity, Breakthrough T1D, to raise funds for research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
