Blacktown Mayoral Fun Run
The Blacktown Mayoral Fun Run takes place at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside on Sunday 16 August 2026. The course starts at Boronia Reserve and passes through bushland, the Aboriginal heritage garden and the Chang Lai Yuan Chinese gardens. The event is listed as sold out.
Two distances are offered:
- 5 km race
- 2.5 km race
All participants receive a finisher medal and there are prizes for best dressed. The event notes that course measurement may not be to scale and that roads are managed for safety. Both distances are timed and a single water station is available on course. First aid officers will be on the course and at the finish line. There is no bag drop or locker facility.
A range of family activities is provided near the start and finish, including chalk art, cultural drumming, bubbles, pop up music, Chinese flute, didgeridoo, a fun tunnel and an obstacle course at the finish line.
Accessibility information states the event is fully accessible with no stairs, most sections are flat and sealed, wheelchairs are permitted and accessible toilets and parking are available. Support people and carers may stay on the course and are not required to register. There is no dedicated quiet space for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
