Glenbrook Marathon
The Glenbrook Marathon is a trail running event in Glenbrook National Park with three course options and an event hub at Euroka Clearing. The routes use single track and fire trail and pass lookouts, Aboriginal artwork, creeks and Red Hands Cave.
Distances and basic cut-offs
- 25 km : age 16 plus, cut-off 4 hours, elevation +504 m
- 34 km : age 18 plus, cut-off 5 hours, elevation +667 m
- 42.2 km : age 18 plus, cut-off 6 hours, elevation +794 m
Course details note climbs and downhills. The marathon route includes the Goat Track to Mount Portal, Camp Fire Creek, Red Hands Cave, Nepean Lookout, a Pisgah Ridge out-and-back and a final section on Oaks Fire Trail and Bennetts Ridge Fire Trail back to Euroka Clearing. The final 8 km include extended downhill sections.
Aid stations and support
Multiple aid stations supply water, electrolyte, fruit and some locations provide coke. There are no cups on course; runners must carry their own cup or flask. All competitors must be able to carry at least 500 ml of water; a no water no result policy applies. Toilets are available at Euroka Clearing and at Red Hands Cave car park.
Other notes
The 34 km and 42 km events qualify for entry to the Six Foot Track Marathon with specified time standards. Detailed course maps, elevation charts and GPX files are provided. Parking is available at Euroka campground and a National Park entry fee applies at the gates. Volunteers are welcome for aid stations and marshalling.
