Event overview
Run The Alamo is a downtown San Antonio race weekend centered at Civic Park at Hemisfair (210 S. Alamo St., San Antonio, TX). The event offers multiple distances:
- 26.2 km (Marathon)
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 5 km and 10 km (Donut Dash)
The half marathon has a 4 hour course time limit. The marathon has a 7 hour course time limit and requires runners to reach a designated aid station on the certified course cutoff to remain on the full route. The course passes local landmarks including The Alamo, San Pedro Cultural Park, San Fernando Cathedral, King William, the World Heritage Missions, and the River Walk. Aid stations are placed approximately every 1.0 to 1.5 miles and provide water and electrolytes. Creative finisher medals are given to all finishers and awards are presented in overall, masters, grand masters, and age-division categories.
Logistics and services
A race expo and packet pickup are held at Flores Banquet Hall in San Antonio the day before race day. Emergency race day packet pickup and bag check are located near the finish in the large white race info tent at Hemisfair. A phone tracking option is available through the ACTIVE Experience app for spectators and participants. Volunteer roles include packet pickup, course monitors, aid station staff, and finish-area support; volunteers must be at least 12 years old. The event partners with Team World Vision for charitable support and lists hotel partners including the historic Menger Hotel and Hilton Palacio del Rio.
