Run Rockaway Beach Firecracker Half Marathon & 5K
The Run Rockaway Beach Firecracker Half Marathon & 5K takes place on the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach, New York. The event is held on July 4th and utilizes the boardwalk as a flat racecourse featuring ocean views along the route. Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The Half Marathon course consists of two loops. Participants start at Beach 94th Street, head west to Beach 124th Street to make a U-turn, run east to Beach 54th Street for another U-turn, and return west to the Beach 94th Street location. For the 5K, the course is a single out-and-back route starting at Beach 94th Street, traveling west to Beach 124th Street, and returning to the finish line at 94th Street.
Amenities for participants include bib tags, t-shirts, medals, and snacks. During the half marathon, there are at least four water stops located on each of the two loops. Public parking is available in a dedicated lot on Beach 94th Street. Registration options include advance sign-up as well as registration on the day of the race. All event activities, including bib pick-up, the start line, and the finish line, are centered at Beach 94th Street on the boardwalk.
