Pi Day 3.14 Mile NSRF
The event is a Pi Day themed run/walk described as a 3.14 mile circular course that visits the Unisphere twice and runs around the Fountain of the Planets in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens. Start and finish are located near the Queens Theater and the course is also listed as a USATF certified 5K.
Options include in-person participation and a virtual option. Virtual participants have from the first day of the event and a full week to log a time and submit up to five photos; event items for virtual participants begin shipping the first day of the event. In-person participants are offered a Pi Day finisher medal and event tee, and a mini pie for those on site.
Amenities include an informal bag check area, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Bathrooms are available a short walk from the start and finish, with Porto-Johns located near the finish line and an NYC Parks building bathroom near Mile 2.
Bib distribution options include in-person pickup starting one hour before the event or having a bib mailed for a fee if registered in advance. Age group recognition is awarded to top finishers overall and across standard age brackets. A portion of event proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation and donations are directed to NSRF.
