Pi Day 3.14 Mile NSRF
Pi Day 3.14 Mile is a themed run/walk held around Pi Day (March 14) that uses a circular course to honor the mathematical constant pi. The main distance is 3.14 miles, run on a USATF certified 5K course that visits landmarks in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, including the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets. The start and finish are located near Queens Theater.
The event offers both in-person and virtual participation. Virtual entrants have a full week from the event start to log a time and upload up to five photos; virtual race items begin shipping on the first day of the event. In-person participants receive event items including a finisher medal and a Pi Day tee; a mini pie is provided for in-person attendees. A free kiddie dash is included.
Amenities listed for in-person participation include informal bag check, hydration at the finish line, high quality refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water, and restroom access via Porto-Johns near the finish and an NYC Parks building near mile 2. Parking is noted at the Queens Museum building on Meridian Road with a short walk to Queens Theater.
Race recognition is posted online by age group and overall for men, women, and nonbinary athletes. A portion of proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
