Event Overview
The NSRF Pi Day 3.14 Mile is a themed running and walking event held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens. The race celebrates the mathematical constant Pi by utilizing a circular course that covers a distance of 3.14 miles. The event takes place at the park's historic grounds, which include the ancestral lands of the Munsee Lenape, Matinecock, and Canarsie peoples.
Course and Location
The event features a USATF certified course that traverses scenic park areas. Participants visit the Unisphere twice and run around the Fountain of the Planets. The route starts and finishes near the Queens Theater. Participants can park at the Queens Museum building on Meridian Road and walk to the staging area. Restrooms are available near the finish line and at an NYC Parks building located near the 2 mile mark.
Race Details and Amenities
Registered participants receive a Pi Day finisher medal and a themed t-shirt. Those attending in person are provided with a mini pie and refreshments, including sparkling water. A separate, free dash is available for children. An informal bag check area is provided in the staging area, though participants remain responsible for their own belongings.
A virtual participation option is also available. Virtual runners have one week from the start of the event to complete their distance and upload their results and photos online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
