About the race
The Run or Walk the Rounds for Nursing 5K is a community running and walking event presented by the Rotary Club of Charlotte Harbor to raise funds for scholarships for local high school graduates pursuing careers in nursing. Participants will move along the trails of Centennial Park in Port Charlotte.
Distances offered:
- Run the Rounds for Nursing 5K Run/Walk (timed), 3.1 Miles
- Walk the Rounds for Nursing 5K Walk (untimed), 3.1 Miles
Registration opens May 19, 2026. The organizer notes that registering by October 2, 2026 guarantees an official race shirt. Age-based pricing and discounts for local running clubs apply. Published entry fees include $25.00 for the timed run and $20.00 for the untimed walk.
Awards and age groups are part of the event. Overall male and female winners receive Rotary swag, and top male and female finishers in each age group also receive awards. Age groups listed cover 0 to 10, 11 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over. Prizes may include Rotary baseball caps or visors, insulated Rotary tumblers, and gift certificates.
