Run On The Rocks
Run On The Rocks takes place in Point Of Rocks, Maryland, offering long-distance running events on a flat course. The race utilizes the Towpath, a route that remains open to the public and cyclists during the event. Participants can choose between three different distances:
- 10 Miles
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 20 Miles
The course is described as level and follows a layout characterized as pancake flat. All events are chip-timed, ensuring accurate results for every participant. Runners can receive a race premium t-shirt, though size availability is only guaranteed for those who register before September 7th. A "no shirt" option is also available during the registration process.
Finisher medals are provided to all participants who complete their respective distances. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in two specific age categories for each gender: Risers (ages 54 and below) and Masters (ages 55 and above). These awards are determined strictly by age group performance.
Registration must be completed in advance as there is no registration available on the day of the race. The deadline for transferring between different race distances is September 10, 2026. Because the Towpath is shared with the general public, the use of headphones is not recommended to ensure runners remain aware of their surroundings.
