Run Nidderdale
Run Nidderdale is a well marked and marshalled 6 mile trail race through the Nidderdale countryside. The course passes through ancient woodland and open moor, climbs to a trig point with views over the Nidderdale valley, follows the Nidderdale Way, goes past the Two Stoops monument and finishes after a downhill section. A GPS route file is provided for the course.
Course records are listed for the male and female races with current times of 00:38:44 and 00:51:23 respectively. Prizes are awarded to winners in the open, V40, V50 and V60 categories, and to the first male and first female team based on the top three runners from an affiliated club. There is a £50 cash prize available for a new male or female course record and spot prizes will be offered on the day.
The event donates 33% of proceeds to each of the club’s nominated charities, the MND Association and the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, with the remaining third allocated to club funds. Part of the route crosses private land; permission to use this land is restricted so it must not be accessed before or after the race date. The minimum age for entry to the trail race is 16. Dogs are not permitted to run in the race but are allowed in the showground on leads. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
