Fountains Fun Run 2026
The Fountains Fun Run is a multi-terrain running event held in the village of Grantley, near Ripon in North Yorkshire. The race serves as the shorter distance companion to the Fountains 10K. The course covers a distance of approximately 2 km and follows a single undulating lap.
The route begins at the village playground and takes participants along a quiet rural road. It then traverses through privately owned fields before returning to finish at the playground. Due to the terrain, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The event features specific age-related guidelines for participants:
- Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Accompanying adults for children under 6 do not need to register or pay.
- Adults running alone or with children aged 6 and over must register and pay the entry fee.
Race headquarters is located at Grantley Village Hall, where a baggage store is available for participants to leave their belongings at their own risk. On-site facilities include toilets, though there are no changing rooms, showers, or water stations provided on the course. There are no distance markers along the route. The event is organized by the Friends of Fountains and Grewelthorpe School PTAs and has a maximum entry limit of 150 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
