Run Like the Dickens - Fernandina Beach
Run Like the Dickens is a one-mile fun run held on December 12, 2026, at Main Beach on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The event takes place at Sandbar Amelia Island and follows a simple beach route that goes out, around the tree, and back; direction may change depending on beach conditions. The run is organized as a non-chipped, festive event and all participants who finish will receive a Run Like the Dickens medal.
A pre-race warm-up is provided by the YMCA. After the run there is an awards presentation at Sandbar Amelia Island and a visit from Santa for photo opportunities. The Sandbar will offer a special $9 breakfast combo from the snack shack window and will open early for brunch.
Registration details are set by the organizer: registration opens October 1 and closes on the day of the event, with a registration fee of $30. Registrations submitted online by November 20 receive an official event T-shirt and medal; registrations after that date and onsite registrations receive shirts as supplies allow, and the organizer may arrange mailing or pickup if shirts are unavailable on race day. Registrations are non-refundable.
