19th Annual Run Like Hell 5K
The Run Like Hell 5K is an annual fundraiser held at the historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. This event is the largest cemetery run in the United States and takes place during the spring season. All proceeds from the race are directed toward the Historic Oakland Foundation for the preservation and restoration of the cemetery grounds.
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km
The race course consists of a paved keyhole loop that winds through the cemetery roadways. The terrain is described as gently rolling with soft turns. Participants can choose to run, jog, or walk the course. This race is an official qualifying event for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race.
Registered participants in the 5 km receive a commemorative t-shirt and a race packet containing community offers. The event includes a costume contest with categories for adults, youth, groups, and dogs. Following the race, awards are presented to the top performers across various divisions, including overall winners, Masters categories, and three deep in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted on the course. Due to limited street parking, the use of rideshare services or public transportation via the King Memorial MARTA Station is suggested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
