About the race
Presented by Unity and Timing Events, Run From Zombies takes place on October 31, 2026 at Flora Wylie Park in St. Petersburg, FL. The event features individual and team running events with age-specific divisions and loop courses.
Distances offered:
- 0.5 miles for children ages 5-12
- 2 miles for teens and adults
Individual and team formats are offered. Individual categories include walking, jogging, and running paces with age-based divisions for kids (12 and under) and for participants 13 and above. Team divisions are for participants aged 13 and above and require a team name; teams must register once and may be assigned to the same or separate heats. To qualify for team awards, at least two team members must finish with a flag attached.
Race mechanics use flag belts and color-coded wristbands. Zombies may remove flags from survivors only; physical contact such as holding or pushing other competitors is prohibited and may result in disqualification. Zombies may pursue only the group assigned to them. Placement and retained flags earn points for individual and team rankings; survivors and zombies receive points based on finishing positions and flags retained or captured.
