Run The Point

Run The Point is a multi-distance running event held at Emerson Point Preserve in Palmetto, Florida. The route follows shoreline trails with views of Tampa Bay, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and sights toward Egmont Key on clear days. The course passes coastal habitat where local birds such as spoonbills and osprey can be seen and where gopher tortoises may be present along the trail.

• Double Nickel Challenge (8.1 Miles)

Packet pick up is scheduled on two evenings before race day at local businesses in Sarasota and Palmetto, and there is a race day packet pick up at Emerson Point Preserve. Partners named for the event include New Balance, Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort, and Cruise Planners.

The event benefits the Palmetto Youth Center; the organizer will donate 10 percent of all registrations plus any additional donations. The beneficiary provides before and after school care, tutoring, athletics, and programs in arts, STEM, and career readiness for local youth.
