14th Annual Run FORE Cancer
The Run FORE Cancer event takes place at the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club in Arizona. This athletic gathering serves as a tribute to those affected by cancer, with proceeds benefiting the University of Arizona Cancer Center. The course utilizes the golf club's cart paths, providing a scenic route through the grounds with the start and finish lines located at the Club House.
The event offers several individual distances:
- 8K (Full 18)
- 5K (Front 9)
- 1 Mile Remembrance Walk
- Virtual Run
The competition is chip-timed with real-time results available. Participants in the 8K and 5K races are eligible for age group awards for the top three finishers in various categories, ranging from 8 and under up to 80 and over. Registrants receive a custom finisher's medal and a dri-fit tech t-shirt, though there is an option to decline the shirt for a registration discount.
The event provides a "Runner's Brunch" featuring fruit, granola bars, water, and electrolyte drinks. The course is accessible to wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons. However, pets, bicycles, and motorized devices are prohibited. Participation is limited to 600 runners. Parking is available at the golf club and a nearby satellite lot at the Seville Office building, with a shuttle service provided for the 0.5-mile distance.
