Run For Your Life! Free Halloween Group Run
The event takes place on October 28, 2026 at Sunset Park, 2698 Milton Rd, Middletown, OH 45042. It is an annual, free group run organized by the local run club and open to the public. The activity is not a race; participants run or walk together as a group.
Two participation options are offered:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- Scavenger Hunt Challenge (about 8 to 10 miles)
For the 5k route, turn-by-turn directions will be provided and chalk arrows will mark parts of the course. The 5k is presented as a casual running and walking tour of local Halloween displays in Middletown. Participants may take selfies at displays; photos can be shared on the event page.
The Scavenger Hunt Challenge uses a map with marked displays. Organizers will identify the top five Halloween displays across Middletown; house addresses will be provided but no turn-by-turn directions or chalk arrows will be given for the challenge. To complete the challenge participants should photograph each marked display and show a Strava or other tracker app as proof. The total distance may vary depending on route choices.
Anyone who completes the Scavenger Hunt Challenge will receive a special prize and the fastest challenge time will be awarded a trophy. Shirts must be pre-ordered by October 10. Run club members who have filled out their membership card at least once this year will receive a complimentary shirt if they provide a size before the cutoff.
