About the race
The Run For Your Life: The Last Escape is an interactive running event in Fairborn, OH on October 17, 2026, presented by Run Ohio Races LLC. Participants choose a role as either a Survivor or a Zombie and follow a course with designated infected zones.
Survivors run while wearing a flag football belt; Zombies remain within infected zones and attempt to capture flags. Reaching the finish line with all flags intact is recorded as surviving; losing one or more flags indicates an infection but does not prevent finishing. All finishers receive a medal.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile - 0.5 miles out and 0.5 miles back, two infected zones.
- 5K - three out-and-back sections, six infected zones.
- 10K - six out-and-back sections, twelve infected zones.
- 15K - nine out-and-back sections, eighteen infected zones.
The course will be clearly marked and restrict Zombies to infected zones. Packet pickup is available race morning and organizers recommend arriving early. Water and hydration will be available on course. A finish area will provide medals and additional event items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
