Event Overview
The 17th Annual Run for Their Lives is a timed 5K charity run taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026. It is the 17th edition of this event. Participants can join in person in North Park, Allison Park, or run virtually from their own location.
Location & Course
The in-person event starts at the North Park Swimming Pool loop at 303 Pearce Mill Road in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. The course is approximately 3 miles long and goes through tree-lined streets within North Park, located in northern Allegheny County, north of Pittsburgh.
Registration & Fees
There are two event options:
- Run For Their Lives 5k (in-person)
- Virtual Run for Their Lives 5K
Pricing for the in-person 5K follows a schedule:
- Early Bird registration is $25 until May 31, 2026.
- The price increases to $30 from June 1 through September 18, 2026.
- The race day fee is $35.
Registration for the virtual 5K is $25 and closes on September 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Online registration for the in-person race also closes at that time. In-person registration is available on the morning of the event.
Participant Benefits
All participants receive a finisher's medal and a goody bag. Those who register by July 31, 2026, are guaranteed a technical race t-shirt in their selected size. Virtual participants have their race packets mailed for an additional fee or can pick them up for free from an office in Beaver, PA.
Charity Purpose
The run is a charity event to raise awareness of bleeding disorders. It supports education and advocacy programs for the Western Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
