Event Overview
The Run for Rhonda is a community event in Key West, Florida. It takes place on May 3, 2026 at Truman Waterfront. All event proceeds benefit Take Stock in Children-Monroe County, which supports local students.
Distances
The event includes three options:
- 5K Run for Rhonda: A timed run/walk covering three loops of the Truman Waterfront promenade.
- 1 Mile Run for Rhonda: A one-mile run/walk covering one loop of the same promenade.
- 5K Virtual Run for Rhonda: A virtual option where participants complete the distance on their own.
A free ¼-mile kids' run is also part of the event day. The course starts and finishes near the Ingham Ship.
Event Features
The event includes a costume contest with categories like "Most Edible," "Fiesta Upcycled," "The Piñata," and "Squad Goals." An after-party features snacks, margaritas, and music.
Participants receive a finisher medal and a swag bag with sponsor merchandise. The first 50 registrants for the 5K receive a memorial T-shirt. Additional T-shirts are available for purchase.
Medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female runners and walkers in the 5K, and the top three overall male and female finishers (including a 12 & under category) in the 1 Mile. Awards are also given for best costumes, and there is a 50/50 raffle.
The event uses chipped timing with live results posted after the race. A water station is provided for participants to fill their own bottles.
