Event overview
Run For Recovery is an organized, timed trail race at Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area in Parkland County on August 27, 2026. Registration will open in the spring of 2026. The event is described as family friendly and open to runners and walkers. Proceeds from registration fees (less expenses and auction proceeds) are split equally between Our House Addiction Recovery Centre and McDougall House. Fundraising donations go directly to those two charities.
Distances and fees
- 12K - 50% technical single-track, 50% rolling Nordic track, ~350 m elevation change.
- 6K - 100% Nordic track with rolling hills.
- 3K - Flat on double-wide trails; noted as suitable for all ages.
- 1.2K - Kids fun run on a flat treed loop.
Fees: 12K and 6K $60, 3K $40, 1.2K free. A reduced registration fee option requires creating a fundraising page and raising a minimum of $100 for one of the charity partners.
Additional information
12K/6K/3K entries include event-branded swag and all finishers receive a medal. Aid stations are provided on course. Package pick-up is available on race day. Facilities include outhouses; food will be available at the start/finish. Dogs are not allowed on the race course and strollers or baby joggers are not permitted on the 12K course.
