Friends and Zoey's Zoo Fun Run : event description
This is the fifth annual Friends and Zoey's Zoo Fun Run, a fundraiser that supports the Valley Zoo Development Society. Funds have been used to adopt exhibits and to support redevelopment projects; past support included the harbour seal, golden lion tamarin and Goeldi's monkey exhibits and the carnivore project. The event continues support for the harbour seals and work toward a larger commitment to the carnivore project.
The run starts and finishes in the Edmonton Valley Zoo amphitheater. Onsite distances available to participants include:
- 1 km
- 2 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
A virtual option is offered for 1 km, 2 km, 5 km or 10 km and can be completed between August 1 and September 13. All virtual participants receive the same custom finisher gift by mail.
Packet pick up is scheduled Saturday, September 12 from 12:00 to 15:00 at the South Edmonton Common Running Room and Sunday, September 13 from 12:30 to 13:00 at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Event sponsors listed are Running Room, Global Aware and Ellerslie Real Canadian Superstore. Fundraising shows CA$82.80 raised toward a CA$3,000.00 goal for the listed fundraising organizations.
