Friends and Zoey's Zoo Fun Run : Edmonton, AB
This is the fifth annual Friends and Zoey's Zoo Fun Run, held to raise funds for the Valley Zoo Development Society. The event supports exhibit adoptions and the carnivore project, which funds redevelopment of Carnivore Alley. Last year fundraising helped adopt the harbour seal, golden lion tamarin and Goeldi's monkey exhibits; adopting an exhibit provides funds for improved habitats and enrichment materials. This year the event continues support for the harbour seals and works toward a larger commitment to the carnivore project.
The run starts and finishes at the Edmonton Valley Zoo amphitheater. Routes are offered for in-person and virtual participation.

A virtual option lets participants complete 1, 2, 5 or 10 km between August 1 and September 13. Virtual participants receive the same custom-designed finisher gift by mail. Packet pick up is available the day before at the South Edmonton Common Running Room and on event day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The event lists local sponsors supporting the fundraiser.
