Run For It!
Run For It! is a community fundraising event organized by the Tucker Community Foundation. The program, which began in 2007, aims to support non-profit organizations, civic groups, and charities across a ten-county region in West Virginia and Maryland. The event takes place in Davis, West Virginia, as part of the Leaf Peepers Festival.
Participants can take part in several different events:
- 5k Run/Walk (timed)
- 2k Walk (not timed)
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk
- Virtual 2k Walk
The registration for these events follows a specific financial structure to benefit local causes. Half of the entry fee is directed to a chosen non-profit or charitable team. Additionally, all donations from team sponsors and any race day awards earned by the teams go directly toward the designated community causes. The program supports various initiatives, including animal welfare, education, arts, and community improvement.
In-person participants can collect their race packets at the Davis Fire Hall on the Friday evening before the race or on Saturday morning. The event serves as a culmination of a six-month fundraising campaign that begins in April. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
