PVFD Cheat River Triathlon - Parsons, WV
The 6th annual Parsons Volunteer Fire Department Cheat River Triathlon is set at Mill Race Park in Parsons, West Virginia. The event combines running, paddling, and cycling on a course that links Mill Race Park and Hendricks Park. A separate untimed 2K walk uses the Mill Race Park walking track and shares the same start and finish area as the triathlon.
Event course segments include:
- Run: 3.9 miles from Mill Race Park to Hendricks Park.
- Paddle: 3+ miles by kayak or canoe back to Mill Race Park.
- Bike: 7 miles round trip between Mill Race Park and Hendricks Park.
- Walk: 2K on the Mill Race Park walking track, not timed.
Safety equipment requirements are specified: PFDs (life jackets), helmets, and whistles are required for the river section, and bicycle helmets are required for the bike portion.
Registration opens on 2025-12-31 and closes on 2026-03-13. Published registration fees are $45.00 for solo triathlon entry, $82.00 for a two-person relay, $115.00 for a three-person relay, and $30.00 for the 2K walk.
