Canaan Valley Trail Run
The Canaan Valley Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Canaan Valley State Park, West Virginia. The event uses the Promised Land Trail, which starts and finishes directly behind Canaan Valley Resort. There are one loop and two loop course options and registration is limited to 200 participants.
The course layout follows the Promised Land Trail and includes roughly 350 feet of elevation gain per 5.9 mile loop. A referenced route map is provided for orientation while noting the real trail contains additional switchbacks.

- 11.8 mile two loop option
Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers for each distance, and age group awards will be offered for both distances. Packet pick up is scheduled the evening before the race on Friday, June 26 from 6 pm to 8 pm at McClumsy, 284 East Avenue, Thomas, WV. Race day packet pick up is listed as tentative and locations will be confirmed closer to the event.
All participants receive a race T shirt, an event specific handmade local finisher medal, post race snacks, and beer for those 21 or older. Start, finish, and parking are located at Canaan Valley Resort. Lodging and camping options are available locally including nearby state parks, Monongahela National Forest, and towns such as Thomas and Davis.
