Canaan Valley Trail Run
The Canaan Valley Trail Run takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Canaan Valley State Park. The event uses the Promised Land Trail, which starts and finishes directly behind Canaan Valley Resort. The course is organized as either a single loop of approximately 5.9 miles or a two loop option totaling 11.8 miles. Each 5.9 mile loop has about 350 feet of elevation gain.
Registration is open and the field is limited to 200 participants. Packet pickup is scheduled on Friday, June 20 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McClumsy, 284 East Avenue, Thomas, WV. Race day packet pickup will be available with times and final locations to be confirmed.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in both distances. Age group awards are also planned for both distances.
All participants receive a McClumsy T shirt, an event specific handmade local finisher medal, post race snacks, and a beer for those 21 or older. Parking, the start, and the finish are located at Canaan Valley Resort. A range of lodging options is available within a short drive, including the host resort, nearby state parks, and local towns with vacation rentals and bed and breakfasts.
