Run for Home : Emily Murphy Park, Edmonton
Run for Home is a charitable running and walking event held at Emily Murphy Park in Edmonton on October 18, 2026. The event includes organized distances and a separate fun run for children.
Distances offered:
- 1 km fun run for kids 12 and under
- 5 km walk or run
- 10 km walk or run
The event is family friendly; dogs and strollers are allowed. Post-race refreshments, prizes, swag bags and a bouncy castle are provided on site. Organizers collect donations on race day; requested items include new or used shoes, toques, mitts and other winter gear. Donations are intended to supply patients with items they need at hospital discharge.
All proceeds support the Affordable Housing Sustainability Fund. Proceeds raised by the 1 km, 5 km and 10 km events are used to support housing programs in Edmonton’s inner city. The Running Room is listed as a sponsor.
Race kits are available for pick up on October 16 at the 109 Street Running Room from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and on race day starting at 12:30 pm.
