Run for Education - San Ramon Valley Education Foundation
The Run for Education is an annual community event organized by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation on October 11, 2026. The event supports San Ramon Valley Unified School District schools in Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon by funding district grants, STEAM programs, professional learning, and individual teacher grants. An Expo for Education and family activities are part of the event.
In 2026 the event includes a new primary site at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. The 5K, Mini Run, and Friendship Run will start and finish at Iron Horse Middle School. The 10K will begin at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finish at Iron Horse Middle School.
Event formats include:
- Mini Run, ages 2 to 6.
- Friendship Run, for athletes with special needs, walk run or roll.
- 1.5 mile untimed course.
- 5K.
- 10K.
- Virtual participation option.
Additional details from the event listing: bibs are required on course and Mini Run bibs are restricted to the Mini Run course; two year olds may be accompanied by one parent or guardian; bicycles and dogs are not permitted on the course. Registration automatically creates a personal fundraising page; funds raised return 70 percent to the chosen school and 30 percent to SRVEF for district initiatives. The 5K and 10K are timed and participants can print certificates. Selected entries include participant shirts and medals as noted by distance.
