The 2026 Run for Education
The Run for Education is a community fundraising event on Sunday, October 11, 2026, organized by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation with an Expo for Education. The event uses a new primary location for 2026 at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. The 10K begins at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finishes at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon.
The event program includes several distance options and a virtual participation option. Mini Run participants aged 2 to 6, the Friendship Run for athletes with special needs, and a 1.5 mile untimed walk/run all start and finish in San Ramon. The 5K also starts and finishes in San Ramon. The 5K and 10K are timed and finishers can print a certificate.
Registration details note a $5.00 student discount for participants 18 and under for the 5K and 10K, and an automatic 5 percent group discount for four or more registrations submitted together. Discounts apply to registrations beginning November 1, 2025. Pricing displays include mandatory processing fees per SB478 effective July 1, 2024. Every registration generates a fundraising page; funds raised are split 70 percent to the chosen school and 30 percent to SRVEF for district initiatives.
On-course rules include bibs required while on course, no bicycles or dogs, and that participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Shirt and medal provisions vary by event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
