Run for Education
The Run for Education is an annual community run and festival on October 11, 2026, organized by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation to raise funds for district programs and grants. The event supports STEAM grants, district initiatives, professional learning, and individual teacher grants across 35 San Ramon Valley Unified School District public schools serving Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon.
Activities and event features include an expo, a kids’ zone with inflatable games and face painting, exhibitor booths, emergency vehicle displays, and live school music performances. Amenities for participants vary by event but commonly include a shirt, a souvenir medal, and a finish-line expo. The 5K and 10K are chip-timed and offer post-race certificates.
Distances and event options:
- 10K starts in Danville and finishes in San Ramon.
- 5K starts and finishes in San Ramon.
- 1.5 Mile untimed, same start and finish as the 5K.
- Mini Run for ages 2–6, course about 135–300 yards.
- Friendship Run for athletes with special needs, about 300 yards; one friend or caregiver may register free per participant.
- Virtual Run option with proceeds donated; shirt and medal not included.
Additional details: packet pickup occurs on pre-event dates at local partner locations; strollers and physical assistance devices are permitted (start behind runners); dogs and bag check are not allowed. Fundraising pages are generated with registration and revenue is shared between schools and SRVEF to fund school and district priorities.
