The 2026 Run for Education
The 2026 Run for Education is a community running and fundraising event held on October 11, 2026 in San Ramon, California. The event includes an Expo for Education and multiple in-person and virtual participation options. The new 2026 site for several events is Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. The 10K begins at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finishes at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon.
Events and course types include:
- Mini Run for ages 2 to 6.
- Friendship Run for athletes with special needs, walk run or roll.
- 1.5 Mile untimed walk/run starting and finishing at the same location as the 5K.
- 5K starting and finishing in San Ramon.
- 10K point to point between Danville and San Ramon.
- Virtual option for remote participation.
Participant and event policies: bibs must be worn on course and only Mini Run bibs are allowed on the Mini Run course. Two year old Mini Run participants may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Bicycles and dogs are not allowed on the course. T shirts and medals are provided for most in-person events and unclaimed shirts will be donated after October 30, 2026.
Registration details and fundraising: student and group discounts apply beginning November 1, 2025; pricing displays include mandatory processing fees. Each registration generates a fundraising page. Funds raised are split with 70% returned to the chosen school and 30% used by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation for district level initiatives.
