Run for Education - San Ramon Valley Education Foundation
Run for Education is an annual community running event presented by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. The event takes place on October 11, 2026, and has been held for more than 40 years. Proceeds support STEAM grants and programs across 35 San Ramon Valley Unified School District public schools serving Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon.
The event program includes an expo and a Kids’ Zone with inflatable games, face painting, exhibitor booths, and appearances by local public safety vehicles. A post-event recognition ceremony and drawings are part of the day. Packet pickup is offered at local partner locations before race day, and parking for all events is provided at Bishop Ranch 3 with shuttle service to the 10K start; there are no return shuttles to Charlotte Wood Middle School after the event.
Distances and event formats:
- 10K : starts in Danville, finishes in San Ramon; shirt, medal, chip timing
- 5K : starts and finishes in San Ramon; shirt, medal, chip timing
- 1.5 Mile : same start as the 5K; shirt, medal
- Mini Run (ages 2–6) : Iron Horse Middle School track; shirt, cape, medal, treat
- Friendship Run : for athletes with special needs; shirt, cape, medal, treat
- Virtual Run : 100% donation; shirt and medal not included
