The 2026 Run for Education
The event takes place in San Ramon with a new primary location at Iron Horse Middle School. The 10K begins at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finishes at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. An Expo for Education runs alongside the races.
Offered event types include:
- Mini Run - ages 2 to 6
- Friendship Run - for athletes with special needs
- 1.5 Mile (untimed) - same start and finish as the 5K
- 5K - start and finish in San Ramon
- 10K - starts in Danville, finishes in San Ramon
- Virtual - participate remotely
Registration details and policies noted by the organizer: Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Two-year-old Mini Run participants may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Bibs are required on course; only Mini Run bibs are allowed on the Mini Run course. Bicycles and dogs are not permitted on the course. Unclaimed shirts not picked up by October 30, 2026 will be donated.
Pricing and discounts: Students 18 and under receive a $5 discount for 5K and 10K entries. Group registrations of four or more receive an automatic 5 percent discount. The organizer states that displayed pricing includes mandatory processing fees in accordance with current law.
Fundraising and results: Each registration automatically creates a fundraising page. Funds raised are split with 70 percent returned to the selected school and 30 percent used by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation for district initiatives. The 5K and 10K are timed and printable certificates will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
