The 2026 Run for Education
The Run for Education takes place on October 11, 2026 in San Ramon, California. The event is organized by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and includes an Expo for Education. For 2026, the 5K, Mini Run, and Friendship Run start and finish at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. The 10K starts at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finishes at Iron Horse Middle School.
The event program includes:

- 5K
- 10K
- Mini Run for ages 2 to 6
- Friendship Run for athletes with special needs
- Virtual option
Registration details and pricing notes include a $5 discount for participants under 18 for applicable events and an automatic 5 percent group discount for four or more registrations made together. Discounts apply to registrations beginning 11/1/2025. Displayed pricing includes mandatory processing fees as required by law.
Race procedures and extras: bibs are required on course and Mini Run bibs restrict access to the Mini Run course; two year old Mini Run participants may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Bicycles and dogs are not allowed on the course. Mini Run, Friendship Run, 1.5 Mile, and 5K registrations include a short sleeve cotton shirt and a souvenir medal; 10K adults receive a long sleeve tech shirt. Unclaimed shirts will be donated after October 30, 2026.
Each registration automatically generates a fundraising page. Funds raised are split with 70 percent returned to the chosen school and 30 percent used by SRVEF for district wide initiatives.
