2026 Run for 102 Race to the Finish
The Run for 102 Race to the Finish is scheduled for April 19, 2026 at Ogden Avenue School in La Grange, Illinois. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile fun run
Proceeds benefit the PTO/PTCs for the six District 102 schools: Barnsdale Road School, Congress Park Elementary School, Cossitt Avenue Elementary School, Forest Road Elementary School, Ogden Avenue Elementary School, and Park Junior High.
The course starts and finishes at Ogden Avenue School and runs through the streets of La Grange Park; course maps are noted as coming soon. A post-race gathering will include music and additional activities. Only K–8 graders are eligible for awards in the 1-mile fun run. Walkers are welcome, and strollers and walkers are asked to remain at the back of the pack. Dogs, roller blades, bicycles, and skateboards are not allowed on the course.
Race timing uses a disposable chip attached to the race bib. Runners must wear their bibs on the front of their clothing so the timing chip can read accurately. Smart watches and smartphones can interfere with the timing chip; times recorded only by those devices are not accepted for disputes.
Volunteers are sought to help direct runners and support safety. Local volunteer groups that have assisted in past events include the Lions Club of Brookfield and La Grange Park and Cycle Brookfield. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
