Run Dorney Lake
This event takes place at Dorney Lake in Buckinghamshire, the site that hosted the rowing competitions for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The venue is located near the village of Dorney and offers smooth road paths with wide views of the water. The flat terrain and quiet setting provide an environment suitable for maintaining a consistent pace.
Participants can choose from three different distances, with each route consisting of laps around the lake:
- Half Marathon: Four laps plus a U-turn on each lap with 27m elevation.
- 10k: Two laps of the course with 15m elevation.
- 5k: A single lap with 8m elevation.
The race utilizes chip timing to record individual results. Marshals are positioned along the course to provide guidance and direction to the participants. The event village serves as a central hub where refreshments and various food and drink options are available.
Included in the race entry are a unique themed medal and free race photos. After crossing the finish line beside the lake, runners receive post-race goodies provided by event partners. The organizers also implement sustainability practices as part of their event management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
