Ruidoso Runfest
Ruidoso Runfest is a two day community running event in Fort Stanton New Mexico on September 18 and 19 2026 hosted by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation department. The weekend combines road races with a festival atmosphere featuring local bands food trucks and a Downshift Brewing Company beer garden. Post race pizza will be provided by Pizza Hut and a bear carving demonstration is scheduled during the festival.
The event includes multiple distance options:
- Kids 1K fun run
- 5K Pizza Hut 5K
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- State Forty Seven 47K with optional extra loop for 50K
Friday evening features the Pizza Hut 5K and the Kids 1K with finish line activities and awards at Wingfield Park. Saturday includes the marathon half marathon and the State Forty Seven 47K 50K option. The 47K is scored for overall and age group awards and is limited to the first 75 registrants; headlamps are strongly recommended for this event. State Forty Seven finishers receive distinct swag including a long sleeved shirt a trucker cap and a custom 47K medal with an optional 50K charm for those who complete the extra loop.
Packet pick up is available at Wingfield Park on Friday and at the race start location on Saturday. Post race showers are available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club. Photographers will be on site and a 2025 photo gallery is available. T shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed by midnight on September 6.
