Ruidoso Runfest
Ruidoso Runfest is a two-day running festival held in Fort Stanton, New Mexico, hosted by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation department. The weekend includes live music, local bands, food trucks, a beer garden hosted by Downshift Brewing Company, and awards ceremonies held at Wingfield Park.
Friday features an evening 5K presented by Pizza Hut and a Kids 1K fun run, with post-race pizza and awards at the Wingfield Park finish area. Saturday includes the Ruidoso Marathon (seventh running), a Half Marathon, and the State-Forty-Seven Road 47K/50K presented by Bluebird Running in its third year. The 47K is scored for overall and age group awards; an additional loop is available for runners who wish to complete a full 50K. The 47K/50K field is limited to the first 75 registrants.
Additional event details include packet pick-up at Wingfield Park, post-race showers at the Ruidoso Athletic Club, on-course and finish-line photography, and commemorative shirts and medals for participants. The State-Forty-Seven 47K has distinct swag including a long-sleeved shirt, a trucker cap, and a custom 47K medal; a 50K charm is available for those completing the extra distance. A 15% military discount is offered to eligible U.S. military members and family members who present valid identification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
