Ruidoso Runfest
Ruidoso Runfest is a two-day running event held on September 18 and 19, 2026, at 104 Kit Carson Rd, Fort Stanton, New Mexico. The weekend includes road races, festival features, and on-site services managed by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation department.
The event distances include:
- Pizza Hut 5K
- Kids 1K fun run
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- State-Forty-Seven 47K with optional extra loop for a 50K finish
- Virtual Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K
Friday evening hosts the Pizza Hut 5K and the Kids 1K, with the finish line and awards located at Wingfield Park. Saturday’s schedule includes the Ruidoso Marathon, Half Marathon, and the State-Forty-Seven 47K/50K presented by Bluebird Running. The 47K is scored for overall and age-group awards; an additional loop is available for runners who wish to complete the full 50K distance. The 47K/50K field is limited to the first 75 registrants.
Festival amenities include live music, local bands, food trucks, a beer garden hosted by Downshift Brewing Company, post-race pizza provided by Pizza Hut, and a bear carving demonstration. Participants receive commemorative medals and custom shirts; the State-Forty-Seven event has distinct long-sleeve shirts, a trucker cap, and a custom 47K medal, with an optional 50K charm for those who complete the extra distance. Packet pickup is handled at Wingfield Park and at the race start location. Post-race showers are available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club. Photographers will be on site. A t-shirt size is guaranteed for registrations completed by midnight on September 6.
Awards include overall and age-group prizes. The top three overall male and female finishers in the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 47K receive a RunFest Bear Award. The 5K awards are custom Pizza Hut prizes. Age-group awards are given 1st through 3rd across standard divisions starting at 15-19 and extending to 80 and over.
A 15 percent military discount applies for eligible U.S. military members and veterans upon presentation of valid military identification. Active duty service members who receive deployment orders may be eligible for a full refund with required proof. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
