Event overview
The Capitan Mountain 34 Hour Race is a multi-distance endurance event held April 17-18, 2026 at Capitan Mountain, Capitan, New Mexico (33.513758, -105.511612). The event program includes a 34-hour main event plus a 12-hour event and a 6-hour event. The race uses chip timing provided by ZEN ARCADE TIMING for lap accuracy and live displays. Packet pickup is held at Rob Jaggers Campground on the day before the event. Camping at the start/finish is available on a first-come, first-serve basis; some RV water hookups are noted.

The event records times for distances from 25K upward and is described as a "no DNF" event for recorded distances.
Course and logistics
The course is a soft, runnable 4-mile loop with a central aid station at the loop start/finish. The loop direction will be clockwise for this edition. Pacers are allowed during overnight hours (midnight to 6:00 AM). Aid stations provide traditional ultra snacks, electrolytes, soda, and hot food at night including vegetarian options; a food truck provides lite lunch and dinner for registered runners. Crew access is optional.
Policies and accessibility
The organizer states no refunds, deferrals, or transfers. Athletes with disabilities must be able to run the course; tethers, prosthetics, crutches, braces, or poles may be used with approval where indicated. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
