XTERRA World Championship : Ruidoso, New Mexico
The XTERRA World Championship runs from Oct 8 to Oct 11, 2026 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The event is a multiday off-road sports program held around Grindstone Lake Park with event celebration activities at Wingfield Park. The program includes World Championship races across Elite, Age Group, and Youth divisions, plus open and youth races.

Event features include an expo, athlete check-in, bike mechanic services, community course sessions, guided hikes, yoga sessions, a welcome ceremony, and awards activities. Course grading is listed across easy, intermediate, and difficult classifications. Parking is provided at Wingfield Park and the Grindstone Lake disc golf parking lot with accessible parking available. A shuttle service operates on Saturday with free rides for athletes, spectators, and volunteers.
Participation details note more than 1,000 athletes from over 55 countries and a stated elite prize purse of US$100,000. Multi-sport competitors are required to hold a USA Triathlon license; a one-event Bronze membership may be purchased for single race coverage.
