RRRC Thanks Dad 5K : Midlothian, VA
The Richmond Road Runners Club stages the annual Thanks Dad 5K as a Father’s Day event that includes in-person and virtual 5K options plus a short kids run. The in-person race is based at the Urban Farmhouse in The Millworks in Midlothian. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Lucky Road Midlothian; packet pick up details are listed as tentative.
Event categories include individual and team 5K entries. Teams must include at least one adult age 21 or older and one or more children. Age requirements for the 5K races are five years and older; children aged five to nine must be accompanied for the entire race by a parent or guardian who is also registered and running.
The kids run covers no more than a quarter mile and is open to children ages two through eleven; fathers and grandfathers may run with their children or grandchildren. Registration details differ by event: the in-person and team 5K registration opens in early April and closes at the end of May with a listed fee; the virtual 5K has its own registration window and fee; the kids run is free but requires registration.
