Round the Island Race
Round the Island Race is a fully signed, fully supported, single-loop half marathon around the coastal path on Mersea Island in Essex. The event donates a proportion of entry fees to the Mersea Island Lions charity to support local community work.
Regular, fully stocked aid stations are placed along the course offering sweet and savoury items. The race is cupless, so participants must provide their own drinking cup; collapsible speedcups are available for purchase at registration or on race day for £2.50 each. A finish cut-off time of 4 hours applies.
Parking and toilet facilities are available in the vicinity of the start and finish location, identified at what3words blacken.subtitle.hopping. The event is organised by Hare & Tortoise Running, licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. Entry is offered for the half marathon at a listed price of £22, with an entry fee structure that allows participants to choose whether to purchase an optional bespoke event medal.
