Round the Island Race
Round the Island Race is a fully signed, fully supported single-loop half marathon around the coastal path of Mersea Island in Essex. The event supports the Mersea Island Lions charity through a proportion of the entry fee, with funds used to help the local community.
Regular, fully stocked aid stations are placed along the course offering sweet and savoury items. The event operates a cupless policy; participants must provide their own cup or may purchase a collapsible speedcup for £2.50 during registration or on race day. There is a four hour cut-off time for the course.
An optional bespoke event medal is available as part of the entry fee structure, allowing participants to opt out of the medal to reduce cost or to purchase one if desired. Parking and toilet facilities are available in the vicinity of the start and finish location, which is given using what3words as blacken.subtitle.hopping.
