Rotary Club of Westerville Independence Day 5K

The Rotary Club of Westerville Independence Day 5K is an annual running event held at the Westerville Sports Complex. The race serves as part of a day-long community celebration for the Fourth of July, which also includes a parade, a food truck festival, and a fireworks display. Proceeds from the event are used to support local veterans and first responders organizations.

The event features several participation options:

  • 5k Walk/Run
  • Kids Fun Run (Ages 11 and Under)
  • Veterans/Active Duty Military and First Responders 5K

The 5k course consists of paved multipurpose trails. Participants travel through the Sports Complex property, continue under Cleveland Avenue, and pass the Westerville Community Center. The route then leads to Heritage Park before returning to the start and finish line located near the Veterans Memorial Plaza.

The event requires pre-registration, as there is no registration available on the day of the race. Registered 5k participants receive an event T-shirt, a race medal, and other items. Participants in the Kids Fun Run receive a medal. Packet pickup is held on the two days preceding the event at the Polaris Fleet Feet store. An Honor Guard presentation is scheduled to take place prior to the start of the athletic events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
