12th Annual Columbus Aruna Run
The Columbus Aruna Run is a charity sports event held at Prairie Oaks Metro Park in West Jefferson, Ohio. The event is organized by the Aruna Project, an international human rights non-profit focused on creating freedom for survivors of human trafficking. All registration fees and additional donations are used to fund training centers and employment opportunities for women.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1-Mile Run/Walk
The course is located within the metro park, and a post-race party follows the completion of the runs. Ample parking is available for all attendees at the park location. While the event is open to participants pushing strollers, dogs are not permitted to participate in the races but may remain on the sidelines.
Registered participants receive race swag including an Aruna beach bag and a tri-blend t-shirt. The names of ten women are featured on the bag and shirt logos to represent the cause. Awards are presented at the finish line for the top male and female finishers in both the 5K and 1-Mile categories, as well as for top individual and team fundraisers.
Advance packet pickup is available, with an additional opportunity to collect race bibs and items on the morning of the event at the park starting from 7:30 a.m. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
