Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Fort Worth
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon takes place on October 3, 2026 at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event is organized as a series of races and community activities held in park and green belt settings. Course surfaces may include paved trails, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths. Aid stations are placed along the course to provide water and assistance.
Distances and event options:
- Kids Dash - about a 20 yard dash for children 10 and under.
- 1 Mile - untimed one mile, includes tee shirt and medal.
- 5K - chip timed 3.11 miles, age group awards and overall trophies.
- Quarter Marathon - chip timed 6.55 miles, age group awards and trophies.
- Half Marathon - chip timed 13.1 miles, age group awards and trophies.
- Volunteer then Run - volunteer before running; includes chip timed bib, tee, medal.
- Virtual Run - remote participation option.
A pre-race costume contest is judged for creativity and authenticity, with a Best Costume award and prize package announced before the race. Post-race activities at the rally tent include live music, a DJ, food and drink options with Mexican treats, and live awards announcements. Shirts and finisher medals are provided.
