Event Overview
The Dessert Dash - Fort Worth is a multisport event scheduled for March 2026 at Webb Community Park in Arlington, Texas. Organized by Bigfoot Running Company, this event combines distance running with a themed celebration. The course terrain consists of a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. As the races take place in public spaces, participants share the route with other park users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
Participants can choose from various race distances:
- 10k Run (6.22 miles)
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Run
- Kids Dash (restricted to ages 10 and under)
- Virtual Run
Competition and Participation
The 5k and 10k events are chip-timed. Awards are presented to the first overall male and female finishers, as well as the first masters (40+) finishers. Standard age group awards are available for both distances, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. The 1 Mile Run and Kids Dash are not timed.
Registered participants receive a race tee and a finisher medal. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed at least 10 days before race day. Each participant also receives a dessert ticket that can be redeemed at the finish line. The event includes a photo zone with themed props, music, and name announcements at the finish line. Aid stations are positioned along the course to provide hydration.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are two primary ways to volunteer. A limited "Volunteer then Run" option allows individuals to assist with pre-race packet pickup and then participate in the chip-timed 5k Run. Alternatively, full-race volunteers can assist in roles such as water stations, course monitoring, or as the mascot.
