Event Overview
The Rodeo Stampede is a running event with a Western theme. The confirmed location is Fair Oaks Park in Dallas, Texas. All participants receive a finisher's medal and a custom event shirt. The medal doubles as a functional belt buckle.
Race Distances
The event offers several distances:
- Kids Dash (approximately 50 meters, for children 10 and under)
- 1 Mile
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Virtual Run
The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip-timed. The 1 Mile run and Kids Dash are not timed.
Awards and Activities
Awards are presented in standard age groups for the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon, ranging from 10 & under to 70+. First-place overall male and female finishers in these events receive a trophy. There is also a special recognition for Masters winners (age 40+).
The event features a Cowboy Costume Contest with one winner, chosen by crowd reaction. The prize includes a free entry to a future race, a trophy, and a prize pack.
Other activities include music from a DJ, a finish line announcer calling out each runner's name, and photo opportunities with the Bigfoot mascot. Snacks and refreshments are available at the finish area. Aid stations with water are provided on the course.
Course and Logistics
The course utilizes park and greenbelt paths. Runners can expect a mix of surfaces, including pavement, crushed granite, and possibly dirt paths.
