ROCtoberfest 5K presented by Strangebird is a fall event that combines a timed 5K race with fundraising for local Rochester charities. The event, created in 2018, takes place at Genesee Valley Park and includes a post race festival atmosphere with beer sampling from Strangebird for attendees 21 and over (ID required).
In-person registration includes professional timing, an event bib, a short-sleeve cotton T-shirt guaranteed by September 20, 2026 (color subject to change), online results, a post-race cookout, and a custom finisher medal noted as new for this year. Packet pickup is offered the day before at the Armory (155 Culver Road, Rochester) and on race day near the cricket fields at Genesee Valley Park. Parking is available at the park; local directions reference Elmwood and E. River Road access.
Charity partnerships are structured so that 100 percent of donations are sent directly to the listed nonprofit through the race platform, and partner organizations must complete required financial information to receive direct payments. Organizations that raise $1,000 or more may be allotted a tent on site. Registration materials also state that the date, time, location, or distance may be changed, switched to virtual, or canceled and that refunds, transfers, or deferrals are not allowed unless otherwise stated.
