ROCtoberfest 5K presented by Strangebird
The ROCtoberfest 5K is an annual running and walking event held at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, New York. This event serves as a fundraising platform for local nonprofit organizations, allowing participants to choose a specific charity to support during registration. The 100% of proceeds from donations are distributed directly to the selected 501C-3 charity partners.
The event features a timed course and a festive atmosphere where participants are encouraged to wear themed attire such as lederhosen. Registration for the in-person event includes several participant items and amenities:
- 5K - A live, professionally timed race for runners and walkers.
Registered participants receive an event bib, a custom finisher medal, and a short-sleeve cotton t-shirt, provided they register by the specified deadline in September. Following the race, there is a post-race cookout for all attendees. Participants aged 21 and over who present a valid ID also receive a complimentary glass of beer provided by the event sponsor.
The course is located at Hawthorne Road, and results are published online after the event concludes. Participants can also access a printable finisher certificate. There is no day-of registration available for this event; all registrations must be completed by the Friday prior to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
