Rockin' Rockwoods 53K and 1/2 Marathon
Terrain Trail Runners stages Rockin' Rockwoods at Greensfelder County Park in Wildwood, Missouri, with the start and finish at Muckerman Shelter. The event includes multiple trail distances and a ruck division.
- 53K
- 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 1/2 Marathon RUCK
All courses run on the Green Rock Trail and consist mostly of single track. Surface conditions range from hard pack dirt to loose rock, with rocks, roots and creek crossings. The course includes steep grades and rolling terrain; the 53K combines two out-and-back sections with about 5,200 feet of elevation gain, while the half marathon and ruck are an out-and-back with about 2,200 feet of elevation gain.
Four manned aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, gels, snacks and first aid, with volunteers on site. Aid stations are spaced at roughly 5.5 mile intervals and no segment exceeds about 7.5 miles. Restrooms are available at the start/finish and at the turnaround aid station.
Registration details note an online registration deadline in mid September and available race day registration with set fees. Race entries include event swag items and finisher awards. The event is cup free as part of a zero waste pledge and asks participants to provide their own drinking receptacle and mess kit. Rockin' Rockwoods is organized by Terrain Trail Runners and is part of the Trail Mix Fund partnership and the 50K Mashup Trailrace Series.
